So much for updating the blog with events from last year…. Since I’m waiting 5 hrs for my flight back to Houston from LAX, I might as well make a post of the ENEOS / SPEC Clutch FF Battle 11…. check out mas photos y words below.

A quick get away for the weekend, @maydayjohnp and I decided to check out the ENEOS / SPEC Clutch FF Battle 11 at Streets of Willow in Sunny California.  We arrived on Sunday morning, picked up our “medium sized” car at Thrifty, and ventured around the Los Angeles for the day…

Well rested from dealing with the previous days’ Los Angeles BS traffic, we grabbed our morning cups of coffee, and headed out to the track at 8AM…

On the way there, we missed an exit and got on the more “fun and scenic” route through the canyons.  The photos you see with @maydayjohnp and the Dodge Hemi Charger were taken along that route…

It’s tough to get photos in Texas with mountains, canyons, and an endless empty road…

I totally forgot to get some back plates for composites… but ah well…

One of the first things we did to the Charger was slap on a reflective Mayday Garage sticker… had to somehow rep Htown….

About 7 miles from the track, a State Trooper or Sheriff spotted us in the opposite direction… I instantly knew we were going to be pulled over.  Not sure how he knew we were doing 74 MPH going in the opposite direction but he issued us a ticket anyways… quota for end of the month I guess….

Finally made it to Streets of Willow after 1.5 hrs of driving out towards the desert… the first thing we see is a Tundra on bronze TE37’s… we’re definitely in the land of rice…

The event was small and intimate where people gathered in the shade… Texas heat is hot, but California desert heat is a different level of hurt…

Nobody really knows this, but I’ve recently acquired a Acura Integra DC2… seems to be the trend of what FRS/BRZ owners are getting or just people that I know or follow in the industry.  Meng Tea (@meng.tea) has since moved on from tracking his Scion FRS and is doing more with his boosted DC2 as you can see above… Also @maydayjohnp checking out the rear suspension parts lol…

This guy, @d.gealon, shows up out of nowhere on his newly acquired Grom all the way from Houston…

Someone also let him borrow the new FK8 CTR… who would be brave enough to do such a thing…

One of my favorite cars out there, @stillrolla’s supercharged 2zz swapped Toyota Corolla on Rays 57DR’s… this guy was killing it out there in the Street class…

Not sure if we’re in California or Texas with these guys… @andysoun, @mrphiphi, @tomsiik, and @maydayjohnp…

After walking around, shooting, and standing in dry heat… I decided to just spectate for a bit and just hang out so there’s not much more photos…

@jt_shadetree_dc2 watches the other competitors as he waits to track his K swapped DC2…

@superstreet editor @duspeed signature peace signs while he works on organizing the event…

@illwillem’s crazy aero Honda CRX competing in the Race class of FF Battle 11…

If you’ve ever searched for TE37 wheel deals on Instagram, then you’re probably following @skylinecx… #TE37everything…

Towing his Honda Civic Si all the way from Houston, TX, Anthony (@doboysgarage) finally has the chance to compete against the West Coast guys…

Going with a different tire setup and first time at this track, his PB was 1:31 respectively in the Street class…

Seeing all these cars competing for the best times really makes you want to drive as well…. I guess I got tired of watching and ventured around the track…

Apparently, Taka Aono, has a driving school there… I got to see him teaching a lesson on one of the black top tarmac’s…

One of @andysoun’s buddy’s wanted a few photos at the famous Willow Springs buildings…

The competition continues and JT has some trouble with this K swapped DC2…

One of the coil plug bolts back out in one of the sessions and maybe that was one of the causes for loss of power…

After another test drive, it seems the problem was still there… so maybe the spark plugs were bad…

JT’s crew working hard to get the car running right…

In the end, JT was only able to put out a time of 1:29 in the “Street Class” before calling it quits… it’s been a rough road to FF Battle for JT and he’s just going to come back with a stronger built engine for his next competition….

This car rolled into FF Battle clean….

Transponders to track the racers times…

Checking your tire pressure was essential, especially in 110F + heat…. heard some people’s tire pressures were anywhere from 38 to 40 psi…

A set of new Desmond RegaMaster’s worn by @top1motors’ FK8 CTR…

Andddd that’s a wrap of the ENEOS / SPEC Clutch FF Battle 11 at Streets of Willow.  Small, fun, and intimate event by Superstreet and sponsors.  Stay tuned for the next update… hopefully this year 😀
