With the correct guidance of tuning and support from a small group of friends, one can build a pretty bad ass FD RX-7. That’s exactly what @clayspec aka Clay Barnett did with the guys from Final Form USA. Check out behind the scenes photos by Dennis Nguyen of Clay Barnett’s Mazda FD RX-7 Super Street feature below.
If you haven’t had the chance to pick up the issue… it’s too late lol. Check out the feature and photos online HERE or click on the photo above.
It’s been awhile since I’ve made a post due to laziness and also short hiatus from my Macbook. Clay Barnett‘s Mazda FD RX-7 Super Street feature was shot either in April or May of 2017 and finally appeared in the September 2017 issue. While it was only a small ‘Quickie Falken Tire’ feature, I’d consider it to be one of the more popular articles or posts on Super Streets’ Facebook and Instagram pages.

Using a Nikon D750 with swivel LCD screen means you don’t have to lay on the floor to get the low angle shot…
I had planned to just hang out of Dennis’ BRZ trunk to get the rolling shots, but @finalformFD aka David, let us use his Honda Fit instead…
It got dark super fast and time ran out before I could get more detail shots so we went to an underground downtown parking garage…
A great thing about this underground parking garage were the strip lights. They lit the car up really well and were bright enough to shoot…
If I were to do anything different from this shoot, it would have been to shoot it in one setting. Mainly outdoor with natural light…
Thanks for skimming thru the post and/or reading it. If you have any questions, comments, or requests, just hit me up or leave a comment below!
Shout out to @finalformFD for driving the Honda Fit and @dennisvnguyen for assisting.
