Why am I reviewing a 2 yrs old camera? To be honest, I’m always wanting to try out different cameras, lenses, and even smart phones. I came across the Fujifilm X-series because a friend uses the XT-2, but that option was far too pricey. Now I’m looking at a Fujifilm X100F… pretty much the same specs as the Fujifilm X100T other than the processor, Autofocus (AF), and FPS burst mode. Instead of jumping in and buying the X100F to try out, why not borrow and test out the X100T from my brother! Check out the Fujifilm X100T review and see if it is the perfect everyday camera….
The Fujifilm X100T – The Perfect Everday Camera?
The classic look of a 35mm rangefinder…
But is actually a 16 megapickle, fixed 23mm f2 (35mm) lens, 6 FPS, 40 something AF point mirrorless camera that can shoot RAW…
Want to know what else is impressive? The photos of the Fujifilm X100T were taken with my iPhone 6…. lol.
Now lets jump into testing it on the street. I got the camera Friday evening and wanted to get some sunset shots but that didn’t happen…
The camera is able to shoot wide open at f2 which so shooting well lit areas is not a problem…
Since the camera has a fixed focal length of 23mm, you’re not able to change lenses, but you are able to buy conversion lenses…
The 16 megapickles RAW files are impressive. You’re able to bring back darks, shadows, and highlights and even manipulate the color hues…
I think I know why people like the Fujifilm X-series systems so much… the lens and camera processor sort of has a classic look to it…
It wasn’t until after this my brother told me there was a conversion lens on the lens still… which meant I had some more testing to do…
No place better to test a camera than at Houston Coffee and Cars at Memorial Mall in Houston….
Best time of day to shoot anything is early mornings for that soft warm light…
Though it was kinda warm….
There was still a good amount of cars that showed up. Even the Z club showed up with their nostalgics…
You don’t want to know how much these cars are going for now…
Datsun Roadsters… You don’t see many of these around especially in this good of a condition…
This one was wearing a Jtran sticker so I bet the shop had something to do with either the engine or body restoration…
I’m not gonna lie but I like the new Honda Civic Type R… if someone wants a shoot, hit me up…
The ultimate van to live in while traveling across the country…
You can see it all at Houston Coffee and Cars…
When you want to feel luxury in a classic…
Now onto the Euros…
Nice build by Autodynamica…
Minty 930 Turbo…
Overall, image quality is impressive when shooting outdoors. The electronic view finder (EVF) did not at times when shooting against the sun but may have been because of the reflection from my glasses…
Next place for the Fujifilm X100T review was at Kinitro Fitness…
A little bit of haze when shooting from dark to light…
Lens sharpness is impressive for close distance shots… (sorry Duy)
Shooting at 23mm f2 (35mm), the bokeh is pretty good…
Overall, shutter speed of 1/250s f2 and ISO of 1600(?) looks really good. I want to say IQ is comparable to Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras…
Did some more outdoor testing the next morning at ’86 Day at Catalina Coffee’….
You don’t see many boosted 4ag AE86 coupe’s around…
The 86 day get together was good times with old and new friends… makes me want a hachiroku someday.
Overall impressions of the Fujifilm X100T
Build Quality (8/10) – My brother’s X100T is a little modified with the shutter release button, thumb grip, and wood grain grip. Over the 2 yrs he’s had it, it still looks good with some imperfections. Since the camera is fully electronic, I can’t imagine it surviving wet conditions. If you came from 35mm film cameras, I think you’d like this camera as a replacement or intro the the digital camera world. Also to note, the EVF functions are pretty cool too.
Image Quality (9/10) – For the price (now discontinued and used for $700), I want to say it’s a little better than the Sony Alpha a6000 camera. 16megapickles RAW files recovered the shadows and highlights like normal DSLR RAW file. It could be better optically, but there’s other Fujinon camera systems that are better at a higher cost (of course).
Usability (8.5/10) – It does take a few times of usage to fully use all the functions of the camera. It has wifi to transfer images to your smartphone and then to your social media accounts.
Overall rating – 8.5
So is this camera the perfect everyday camera? Yes, I’d recommend it.
