Some tips and tricks for Houston automotive photography below…
I accidentally shot this Mercedes AMG C63 S Coupe for Vossen wheels in Jpeg format. Not the worst thing you can do, but you’re limited to how much detail you can bring back. Luckily, the Nikon Jpeg files were easy to work. To be honest, I actually like the Jpeg look…. for some reason the colors look way better and the detail is still there.
I had originally planned to shoot on top of a parking garage, but the entrance to the top was gated… so I had decided to shoot in one instead.
This idea actually worked because the light outside the garage just beamed inside like a softbox. The C63 S Coupe had a matte finish paint job so it doesn’t have any crazy reflections.
Houston automotive photography is a bit saturated in my opinion right now but each of the wheel companies around here have a preferred freelance photographer they work with. Luckily, I’ve been in the industry long enough to network and get my name out there…
Networking is key to the industry and it’s mainly who you know…
It’s pretty crazy these images are from a jpeg file that has been edited in photoshop….
The 2017 Mercedes Benz C63 S Coupe is powered by an AMG 4.0L V8 Bi Turbo boasting 503hp that goes 0-60 in 3.8 secs. For a Benz starting at $75k, that’s not too bad…
I’ve actually shot these wheels before, but on a Tesla Model S. I’m not sure about the gold color but I would fuck with a gunmetal or grey color.
I like the new style of taillights on 2017 vehicles.
One of my favorite images from this set. The texture on the walls and columns make this shot.
Somehow the headlights on the wall aren’t blown. Maybe I did try to save it…
And that’s pretty much a wrap for this post.
