Straight from Chiba, Japan, Nate‘s RWB Porsche 964 arrived late January 2017 (yeah, I’m hella late posting this). I got to tag along with him and his dad to the Arrival of ‘RWB Kana’ – Houston Automotive Photography….
A few days after coming back from the Tokyo / TAS 2017 trip, Nate’s ‘RWB Kana’ arrived to Houston. He had planned to pick up the car with just us two, but his dad ended up joining us. This actually worked out well because it was my first time getting a ride in one… I think (maybe I did get a ride in Danny’s RWB Catalina).
After meeting up with Nathan and his dad, we were on our way to pick up the RWB in the most sketchiest trucks… lol…Nate brought several things that needed to go along with RWB Kana….Finally arrived to the shipping center where they held the car…Protected by pallets of wooden containers…Look how happy this guy is…I’ve seen RWB Kana in photos through Nate or SteHo‘s Instagram feeds…But after seeing this one in person, I almost want to say it’s almost the perfect street/track car…RWB Kana doesn’t have your typical riveted RWB over fender… Nate chose to go with the smooth extended body treatment… Some shipping instructions since the windows are plastic and not really sealed… bc racecarz. Because Air cooled Porsches need more air flow…
First start up since being shipped. Check out that successful start up face…
After letting it run for awhile, Nate took it out for a little spin to get the fluids flowing…The rain clouds were moving towards us so we had to move stuff from inside the RWB to the truck quick…I asked for a few quick shots with the RWB…
The interior of RWB Kana is pretty much gutted and only has the bare necessities…
#35mmcarlife…
Nate moving some stuff over to the RWB while I was shooting…
When the sun peaks out of the clouds and hits the red paint, it pops really well… Nate actually helped prep the car for Nojima to paint…Static height is just perfect sitting on repainted bronze WORK Meister S1 wheels…The WORK wheels are wrapped with Advan AD08R tires…
No stretched sidewall here…
A different angle of view with the 85mm…I<3RW…Nate added a few gallons of 93 octane gas before we left…Really cool memory autograph by Nakai-san….We couldn’t avoid the rain clouds heading back into Houston…And without A/C in the racecar, humidity in Houston made it super sketchy to drive in…Nate had it under control though… I think…The rain had stopped a little bit but we were still getting lots of attention driving down 59S… The concentration it takes to drive RWB Kana…Finally, RWB Kana makes it to Houston…There’s only 2 switches for the windshield wiper… either Mid or High… Since MB of Houston was on our way, Nate stopped by to see if there was a chance to get the car inspected…Not too long after, RWB Kana attracted all the boys to the yard…Straight from the Port of Kawasaki…
Attract all the people!
There wasn’t a spot available that day so we left…
Built for purpose, it probably handles like a go kart…RWB Kana sleeps with the fam…
I’m slowly catching up with personal posts like this so stay tuned for more. As always, thanks for checking out the photos and/or words.
